The History of Children of Christ Learning Center, LLC

The first child care center establish was Christ Little People Care Center, LLC in 1989. Later the vision of opening a Christian School Youth Ministry was given to our founder. Children of Christ Ministry and its mission was started in 1994 and in 1998 the Children of Christ Christian Academy was established; opening its doors to the community of Pleasantville NJ; The school was able to accommodate students from kindergarten to six grade and was accredited by "the Association of Christian School international" ACSI. After our first year as a fully functioning grade school; CCCA quickly grew to over 200 enrolled students putting a strain on the tiny school for additional space. However, with limited space, not being able to find a facility to house the large student body and pressure from officials; CCLC had to close until a later date when a larger facility could be located, or when the LORD permits.
Still looking to God for directions, which came in a way of tragedy when the sudden lost of her 37 year old sister in Virginia Beach who when home to be with the Lord. Soon our founder found herself moving to Virginia to aid in her family's crisis; a difficult but necessary move. While in Virginia Beach, she enrolled into Reagent University majoring in Business with a Miner in Youth Ministry. God kept the vision alive opening doors, and Unity World Youth Ministry; "UWYM" (ooma) was born. UWYM was establish to help aid in the establishment of Christian schools in villages and rural areas of underdeveloped countries where there are no schools for the children. UWYM does this with aides from CCLC and by connecting with area ministries with missionaries working in those countries through local Churches. "Our adopted mato is "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND".

Giving Back to the Community & Creating New Leaders

When moving to Maryland to help meet the childcare needs of a family member, our founder knew that God was leading her to the area as He provided all the necessary aids needed to establish an in home daycare center in the city of Aberdeen MD. Two years later, Children of Christ was reborn as Children of Christ Learning Center... God's plans to realizing CCCA and her goals and vision of establishing Christian schools, and to help children worldwide.
UWYM through CCLC continues to contribute thousands of dollars to schools and youth services in underdeveloped countries. CCLC also helps Jewish families with young children through various organizations. CCLC alone with UWYM are Presently rebuilding a Christian Mission School in the Salala district of Liberia Africa. The mission was destroyed during the 9 year civil war that devastated the country. Sadly there was left no schools in that area for the children to attend. Children of Christ has embarked on the journey of rebuilding this mission. The mission will consist of a Church, (which roof we are in the process of rebuilding), the boys and girls dormitories, an elementary, middle and high school, missionary quarters for teachers, a dinning-hall, recreations and sports facilities. in addition, there will be a vocational program for adults; English as a second language beginners with a course in , elementary and middle school reading and math. upon earning a certificate, adults can enroll to learn a trade in career option such as medical assistant, dental Hygienist, mechanic, electrician, plumber, web developer, diagnostic sonographer and more. The need for a clinic in the area is also vital, therefore it is a consideration as well. This mission school will be a safe place where children can live and attend school. We at CCLC believes that God blessings comes so we too can be a blessing to others.
Future plans for Children of Christ is to build the "Children of Christ Christian Academy and Community Center" which we plan to be located in the area. The school will house kindergarten to grade 6. With God, all things become possible to those who steps out on faith. Together, we will continue to build God's kingdom one child at a time... through Christ.

a Curriculum designed to maximize learningThe main reason parents find the curriculum here at Children of Christ so exceptional is because it organizes the vital elements of the various models of early learning. This includes our outstanding private school curriculum "A-Beka", the core of our traditional nursery school building block; this is empowered with today's advanced technology and innovative early learning systems; taught from a Biblical worldview, in a loving Christ centered environment.
Most importantly, it extends the concept of cooperative learning of the home and school partnership, whereby teachers and parents work together systematically to maximize the child's development, all this is done through the love of Christ. |
Through the careful preparation and monitoring of the learning environment, our teachers are loyal educators. Each teacher is well educated in the areas of early childhood education, they are State certified and Credentialed, and are trained to oversee the development of each child from a loving Christian perspective. Children are view as individuals here at Children of Christ, and each child is valued as a contributing member of the group. Our teachers are always sensitive to the needs of each individual child providing that one-on-one attention, as well as meeting the overall needs of the group.

The Parent's Part - working to enhance parent partnership

We are delighted with our home and school partnership program . Here parents have the opportunity to greatly enhance their child's learning. We believe that children can learn at an early age therefore we encourage homework as early as age 2.
This allows parent and child the opportunity to spent some quality parent and child time together which leads to open communication of the day. In addition, homework time in early learning is important as it establish, develops and prepare both parent and child for future learning opportunities when the need for the child to success in school will greatly dependent on the parent's involvement.
Moreover, we believes that when school and home works together, it helps the child; and therefore contribute in the building of self-discipline, self-confidence and cooperation. Our parents and older siblings are the child's first primary role models therefore we encourage an opened line of communication between home and school, and we encourage parents to take advantage of our open door policy and our parent/teacher conferences.
